Website transfer fixed
Thursday, May 19, 2011
There was a bug in the transfer code; it wasn't working if the person you were transferring to wasn't already a customer. It now works even if the avatar you're transferring to has never bought anything at Procyon; however, they still have to be in the Procyon database (which means they have to have played at least one complete game of anything).
Ranking Glitch Today
Friday, November 6, 2009
There was a small glitch with the Global Ranking script today, and as a result people's scores weren't being updated. All the games played were recorded properly, though, and once I fixed the problem everything got counted as it should; nothing was lost. You might have noticed a big jump in your score just now as all the games you played today were calculated all at once.
New Take it Easy Solo Challenge v2.14

Someone found an exploit in the Take it Easy Solo Challenge.
Frootcake v1.14 Update
Sunday, December 14, 2008
Special thanks to Valentine Janus who found a critical bug in Frootcake that affected everyone except me, and NonSmokerGirl Tulip who helped test the fix. Frootcake 1.13 had a very serious bug that would cause the game to stop spitting out cakes in the middle of a game, and generate script errors for every game after that. All owners should upgrade to 1.14, via the usual methods (you can get a new game with your remote or through a vendor).
Network problems
Friday, October 24, 2008
There seems to be something very wrong with Linden Lab's network right now. Around 3:00PM PST today, calls from scripted objects via llHTTPRequest started silently failing some of the time. This means that En Garde scoreboards won't update, games won't get recorded, and in general things are a mess.
Name troubles
Wednesday, October 1, 2008
Linden Lab has done something today that killed the bot I use to upload name textures. So all my pretty scoreboards that show players' names in nice fonts in just one prim won't show any new player names. If you're already "in the system" your name will still be there ok. New players, however, will just show up blank until I can figure out how to fix this.
Scoring glitch
Sunday, April 27, 2008
I've been working on the world ranking scoring these past couple days. I'm not changing in any way the math behind how the rankings are calculated -- I'm pretty happy with that. I'm just trying to optimize a few things, and make it less stressful on my server to calculate rankings on all those games you people have been playing.
You may have seen a few glitches as scores go up and down, but rest assured that nothing is permanently lost. I can always recalculate the rankings from scratch (and I've done that several times these past two days). The scores look correct right now, but I will continue to watch them as I debug the system.
En Garde is back!
Thursday, October 4, 2007
Well, they fixed it!
That's got to be a record for time-to-fix for Linden Lab. I was afraid this would be one of those bugs that lingered for months, but it seems enough people got pissed off by it that Soft Linden got enough motivation to actually fix it. And it broke some of his own furniture too. Nothing like having a bug hit you to make you want to fix it.
My own workaround involved using separate prims, and I got that about half completed. I'm keeping the code around "just in case." But I'm glad people can play (and buy!) En Garde again.
Bug fix coming soon
Tuesday, October 2, 2007
The way Linden Lab broke En Garde (and many other items by other creators) is getting some press... see here in SLNN, and Second Life Insider. There's a lot of angry comments in the JIRA tracker, too.
Soft Linden has claimed he's fixed the bug, and a fix will be rolled out before the end of the week. I'm still working on my workaround as a backup plan.
Ordinal Malaprop has chimed in on the debate. If you haven't picked up a copy of her Swordstick, it's still for sale in Malrif and her OnRez shop (but of course, not very functional without the game to play)
En Garde is broken
Monday, October 1, 2007
Well, that was fast.
I found out today that the update Linden Lab just pushed out broke En Garde.
The link for the issue in JIRA is here, if you could go vote on that I'd appreciate it.
I'm being proactive, though. I can't afford to wait for a bug fix that may or may not come, so I'm trying a workaround. Not sure how long it will take.
If you purchased En Garde and would like a refund, just IM me.
