How should we celebrate...?
Saturday, January 2, 2010
I keep track of every game of En Garde played, in a database on the Procyon server. It's used mainly to compute the rankings, but I can also scan the records to check trends and statistics. And of course, I have a count of every game played.
I believe sometime in the next few months, someone will play the 100,000th game of En Garde in Second Life. That's quite an accomplishment! So I've been thinking, how should we celebrate the event?
I'm taking suggestions from the En Garde community at large. How do you think I should mark the occasion? If you have a suggestion, post a comment here in this thread.

Hi, I agree with Aries. I think it's a really good idea. I think it's a lot better than holding a contest, or a tournament-there are plenty of tournaments already.
If we do have a contest element, how about for interesting custom items? Custom Weapons, Custom sound files, etc.

One of the things I have enjoyed through playing En Garde is going to new places and meeting new people.
One idea could be to encourage this through "See SL from the En Garde pistes". I was inspired by the Winter Choice Rally. Participants could get a "stamp" or be registered somehow on every public En Garde piste you play at during a certain period.
It would need a bit of organizing, but I am sure a lot of board owners would be interested in participating.
